Recently Ms. Shahrzad Akbar, the head of the Afghan Independent Human Rights Commission, criticized sharp collision of the Herat governor against the kidnappers of a ten-year-old girl in Herat. She wrote on her Twitter that government officials should abide by the law and human rights principles in dealing with criminals. She wrote “The government of Afghanistan has international and national human rights treaties, and a selective approach to these treaties reduces credibility and legitimacy of the government of Afghanistan. She also stressed that in dealing with offenders, all the principles of a fair trial must be observed in the stages of arrest and prosecution. “Torture and ill-treatment of human beings are prohibited under national and international law.”
Where was Ms. Shahrzad Akbar, Chairman of the Independent Human Rights Commission as the Taliban flog women in public, as the they flog Herat youths in front of dozens of locals for not fasting although the said repeatedly that they did break their fast.
Where was the human rights representative when the Taliban behead children and mistreat security forces prisoners until death? Is the Independent Human Rights just a defender of the rights of terrorists and criminals in Afghanistan ???. Why human rights independent commission is silent here? Like the United States, the independent human rights organizations have questioned their neutrality, and in recent years they have only defended the rights of terrorists and criminals rather than defending innocent human rights in Afghanistan. Mr. Ghatali, the young governor of Herat, was saddened by the harassment of his people and the harassment of a ten-year-old girl, and his treatment of these ruthless and sick kidnappers is understandable.
But as a politician, he must obey the law so that the difference between us and the Taliban are clear.
