Abbas Stanekzai at the Moscow meeting:
Afghan women live against Islamic law. Islamic laws must be applied to them. What are the Taliban looking for in Afghanistan with these statements? Targeted assassinations of women journalists, assassinations of female employees by media outlets in Afghanistan by the Taliban are clear evidence that the Taliban are once again imprisoning women in prisons of ignorance, bigotry and extremism.
The Taliban want to deprive Afghan women of the right to education, work and socio-political activities in Afghanistan under the pretext of enforcing the Islamic law. It is unfortunate that the United States and its allies support the policies of the Taliban and the Southern Network in Afghanistan.
For nearly more then a year, the United States has signed a cooperation agreement with the Taliban that has weighed on the balance of power in favor of the Taliban.
Afghanistan is one of the most Muslim countries in the world where Afghan men and women live according to Islamic rules. Afghanistan is at a critical juncture that is not ready to go back to the 1990s.
That is why the men and women of the people of northern Afghanistan have armed themselves so that they can defend their freedom, their independence and their values.
